Later, Marissa went on to work with the Ypsilanti Area Convention and Visitors Bureau as the Director of Marketing and Communications. She was able to launch her most successful blog to date on ypsireal.com, which drove more than 50% of the traffic to the website. Marissa also managed to increase Twitter engagement by over 150%. As the Social Media Manager of the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Marissa was able to implement these best practices to the social media and blogging presence of Visit Ann Arbor.
Marissa is also an RYT 200 Certified Yoga Teacher, as well as a musician. She has been the Marketing Chair for organizations such as First Fridays Ypsilanti and Neighborhood Theatre Group. She has also served on grant panels for the Michigan Council for Arts and Culture, and the Washtenaw County Arts Alliance. The rest of her spare time is spent with her husband, son, and two cats!
