5 Questions with our Newest Team Member, Ashley Maddix
26: Welcome to the team, Ashley! We are excited to have you on board. Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Ashley: My name is Ashley, I am originally from the lakeside town of Ludington. I moved to Grand Rapids to pursue my marketing degree at Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I stayed in Grand Rapids for three years exploring the city and building my career. I enjoy skiing up north at Crystal Mountain and kayaking on Lake Michigan. I like to spend time with my family and friends. I’m an avid traveler who has traveled across the country. I’ve also been to Disney World 42 times. I love chocolate chip cookies and petting every dog I come across.
26: What past experience do you have in digital marketing?
Ashley: I was a Digital Marketing Coordinator Intern at Tours Around Michigan in college, and I maintained their social media channels, updated their website, and wrote blogs about their new tours. As a Marketing Coordinator at EDUStaff, I expanded my knowledge of digital marketing by breaking into digital ads both Google and Facebook. Now, I am excited to continue my digital journey at TwoSix Digital.
26: What is your favorite social media channel for personal use and for professional use?
Ashley: Instagram is probably my go to social media channel. It’s easy to keep in touch with friends and family as well as appreciate great photography and when I say great photography, I mean an overwhelming number of dog photos. LinkedIn is my favorite for professional use. I think it’s a great way to find jobs, network as well as find credible resources for learning and professional development.
26: TwoSix Digital works exclusively in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. What is the most magnificent place you have ever visited?
Ashley: The Redwood National Forest in California is absolutely breathtaking. The sheer vastness of the trees is overwhelming. I spent the whole day just wandering through trees being at peace with nature. I would love to go back and feel small again someday.
26: What is the best piece of digital marketing/advertising advice you’ve ever received?
Ashley: Know your audience. Defining your audience is always a starting point when building a campaign so the need to fully understand their needs in order to present something of value is extremely important. This imperative first step is crucial and can determine the success of the campaign.
