We are excited to welcome Sydney Van Hulle to the TwoSix Digital team!

Read on to learn more about her.

TwoSix: Welcome to the team, Sydney! Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Sydney: Excited to be on the team! I’m a born and raised Michigander and I graduated from Hope College with a Communication degree back in 2017—there are worse places to spend your undergrad than Holland, MI, let me tell you!

In my free time, I love baking, playing video games, working on puzzles, cheering on any and all Detroit sports teams, bowling, watching reality TV, and making a podcast with one of my best friends.

TwoSix: What past experience do you have in digital marketing?

Sydney: I’ve worked in digital for almost a decade now, for agencies in Michigan and Nashville, as well as a larger B2C company, a hotel on Mackinac Island, and at my alma mater. Most of my career has been spent creating content for clients, whether it be social, blogs, web pages, or email marketing. My favorite aspect of every job has been working with clients and strategizing new ways to advertise their purpose to the world.

TwoSix: What is your favorite social media channel for personal use and for professional use?

Sydney: Personally, TikTok is the best. My “for you” page is curated in such a specific way that no other app has been able to replicate. Professionally, I enjoy both Instagram and YouTube. Visual storytelling is not only enjoyable to consume as an end user but it’s also exciting to create assets as a marketer.

TwoSix: TwoSix Digital works exclusively in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. What is the most magnificent place you’ve ever visited?

Sydney: Costa Rica, hands down. I had never been anywhere tropical before, so getting to spend a ton of time in the sun, windsurf for the first time, zipline through the rainforest, and read in my hotel room with a monkey right outside the window was a real treat.

TwoSix: What is the best piece of digital marketing / social media marketing advice you’ve ever received?

Sydney: Take a look at your own content and ask, “…would I even be interested in this if I saw it?” It’s easy to fall into a habit when it comes to content creation, knowing what you find intriguing because you work in the industry. But if your content is not planned out with the end user in mind, there’s a good chance it’s not going to appeal to them and your marketing efforts will be for naught.
