#PureMichiganEDU Tour a Success
Social Media Workshops Draw Hundreds
TwoSix Digital recently completed a first of its kind workshop series for members of the tourism and hospitality industries in the State of Michigan. The team visited and presented a series of full-day workshops in Marquette, Traverse City, Alpena, Grand Rapids and Detroit. The TwoSix Digital team traveled over 1,800 miles throughout the state in less than a month. The events brought together hundreds of tourism and hospitality professionals from across the state for an entire day’s worth of learning the best practices in digital marketing.
The statewide workshop series was kicked off during National Travel & Tourism Week and along the way received some attention from both national and local media. You can watch the local 6pm newscast from Marquette at the kick off event here. The workshops proved to be a great way to showcase the efforts of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation in providing top notch opportunities to the various tourism, hospitality and businesses large and small throughout the state. The workshop in Grand Rapids was recorded and the full 5+ hours of educational sessions will be available online in the coming weeks.
While the workshops may have concluded, the learning opportunities are just beginning. A self-assessment tool is currently being developed to help Michigan’s tourism and hospitality industry improve their presence online and increase the state’s overall digital footprint. Upon the completion of the self assessment tool participants will be able to immediately use new tools and techniques to enhance their marketing efforts.
Continued Learning with #PureMichiganEDU
In addition to the online assessment, TwoSix Digital has created an Online Learning Library that includes additional information on digital marketing best practices to further extend the learning opportunities.
TwoSix Digital is also hard at work utilizing the hashtag, #PureMichiganEDU, to develop a community online where people can ask and respond to questions or share a win they recently experienced.
All of these resources will be available online at Pure Michigan’s Industry website throughout the rest of the year.
